Wherein Julia has her first Baptism, has a Fruit Duck, and Gets a new Companion!
Janet's baptism was the most amazing thing!!! As you know her husband said she could be baptised...and we had "daily contact" with her the whole week! Without opposition! (just kidding...) but we really had daily contact and it was so good!! She wanted to see us, but we made it really exciting, painting her toenails for her baptism, planning out all the gory details, making the guest list, making calls, people even came from out of town!! (For those who served in Nîmes...) Rada and Devora Neveu came, and the Famille Langer was going to but then it ended up snowing on the day of the baptism so they didn’t make it...but it was amazing! Janet even bought new white shoes and went searching all over town for them!!

Well…baptism day arrived, and Soeur Aagard and I made 4 cakes, come to find out it wasn’t necessary because everyone brought food and there was a TON…but we had fun experimenting on what we had….and kiwi coconut milk cake isn’t so bad…the kids liked it! Hehe While we were baking Janet was throwing rocks at our window, and we look out and there is Francis, he husband, with her, with a tie on!!! Soeur Aagard and I had a fit! HE WAS COMING!! We met them at the bus stop and they were each carrying big ED bags (grocery store) that were crêpe cakes that Francis had made for the baptism!!! Not only was he coming, but he cooked for it! He is an AMAZING cook!

Well the baptism was amazing! And as you know, Janet is TERRIFIED of water; she has NEVER in her life put her head under water! She even told us during the week that she was practicing with the shower head and couldn’t do it. I don’t know how she showers…
There were Sooo many people there, and we were late (duh!) and didn’t have time to get pictures with her before, so we hurry and took one in the bathroom as she was going in the water…we told her to hold her dress between her legs, because we didn’t want any chance of it coming up and her having to do it again…Elder Clark was so sweet with her and assured her it would only be a second under the water. Well, she slipped and her toe popped up. And the Bishop told her she had to do it again. I just started to bawl! I knew how afraid she was!! Elder Clark reassured her that it would be one second, but she has to do it! And She did!!! She did it!! And she walked out of the water and told Soeur Aagard, “I was so scared, if that wasn’t for the Savior, I wouldn’t of done it, but it was for him, so I could do it 100 times!” What a testimony!

I love Janet! We had a grand ol’ fête with food and chitchatting afterward! Francis brought a ton of fruit and he made a duck out of fruit! It was the coolest thing!! Then he got everyone’s attention and gave Janet a white rose! It was sweet as can be!

And on Sunday she received the Holy Ghost, and it was the most amazing blessing! To be honest, I couldn’t hear the whole thing because the Bishop didn’t have a microphone, but it was really beautiful!
And more good news, Gautie, the Elder’s ami is getting baptized on Sunday!!! MIRACLE!! He did have a date for April 4th, because he needed time to stop smoking…but that changed quickly! We (the Soeurs) had a RV with him and Soeur Hugon, the member that can’t (or won’t) stop smoking…in the RVs with Soeur Hugon, you can’t keep her focused, she is always up and out of the RV…and Gautie came, and we were kind of nervous…well we started talking about Repentance and what it really means to repent, and Soeur Hugon, in her really randomness asks what our definition of diligence was….we all tried to explain it in her own words but it didn’t satisfy her. She said that she asks every missionary, but they don’t give her the answer she is looking for. So we challenged her to look for an answer for herself, she has the library, The Book of Mormon, dictionaries, and it doesn’t have to just be church books, but anything, what does diligence mean?
I tried to explain in my own words, a situation of smoking, if you are trying to quit smoking and you have set a goal, or promised that you would be finished smoking by a certain date, you need to work for that…but not just do nothing at all and at the end say “oh sorry I couldn’t do it…” and I said, you know if you smoke 10 cigarettes a day, set a goal to smoke 9…8…7…and if you just keep pushing yourself and you are diligent with that you will do it…so this week we have a RV with Soeur Hugon and Gautie for them to return with their homework on Diligence.
Come to find out, the next day Gautie completely quit smoking! He had had enough with smoking, he didn’t want to anymore; he didn’t like it and he just down right wanted to get baptized sooo badly! He was so jealous of Janet that she was getting baptized and his date was for April. So he just quit! He bought a ton of chewy things and that was the end! I was soo proud of him! What a HUGE challenge to overcome! So he is getting baptized on Sunday!! 2 baptisms in 1 week, not too bad Petit Brazil! We kind of consider Gautie our ami too because we teach him regularly!! Hehe

Well, you wondering about the “you guessed it?” well I am currently in Montpeiller right now! Why you ask? Well we got transfer calls on Saturday morning from President, and Soeur Aagard went to Aix!!!! My bleuville! And I got on the phone and President said…”Soeur Morrow…are you ready?” “yes, who is coming here?” “Well….a bleu!!!” (Remember, "Bleu" means "Greenie" or brand new missionary from the MTC) I said “Oh no! That is not funny to send the 6’2” bleu with me!” (For those of you who may not know.. Julia is 5'1") He just laughed. He said “oh Soeur Morrow, you are spiritually tall, and I think you are ready…” I said YEAH!! You better believe I will train a bleu! Hehe so here I am with Soeur Cook for the day because she is getting a bleu too, and then tomorrow afternoon we will go to Toulouse to have training and pick them up, and then Thursday night we will come back to our villes!!! Soeur Cook and I have had SO much fun hanging out together today!!!!I have to go or it will boot me off!!!
I Love you!!!Soeur Julia Morrow
