Wherein Julia loves her new companion, has another baptism, and meets new amis!

Julia Modeling "Le Get Up".
She says, "I'm having a french day today! Green skirt, pink accordian pants underneath to fight off the cold, a floral shirt and a marron sweater...doesnt get much better!!!"

Well…it has been an amazing week!!!We got back from Toulouse and just got to work, started seeing amis! Soeur Kim is AMAZING!!! We are like twins! I am serious! We are so much alike! I Love her so much! We seriously mesh, click, put your hands together and fold your fingers and that is US! And listen to this, she was best friends with Bryce Taylor before her mission, at BYU! Crazy! She is just so down to earth, no drama, we just work so perfectly together! Her French is amazing, she helps me!!! She studied at BYU for 3 years, and went to Senegal for 6 weeks!

Gautie’s baptism was on Sunday and it was amazing!!! Talk about opposition!!! So church ends, and the baptism is 30 minutes after, just to have time to fill the font, and Elder Clark walks past me and says “The font doesn’t work!” I, of course, don’t know what that means, but come to find out it wouldn’t fill, but just the week before for Janet’s it worked fine! So we got buckets, and we started filling! Soeur Kim in one bathroom, me in the other, and people in the kitchen, all trying to fill this fount. And it is FREEZING!

Well, Gautie had 9 family members there! It was amazing! Most there to support his decision, some not to happy about it, but all there! His aunt was crying while he was baptized, she was really touched by the spirit! It was neat, I tried to talk to her afterward, but she said “Ya know what? I am religious, just not very practicing, but I think it is cool and Gautie is fallowing his path…” so it touched her in some way! Well, needless to say the water was FREEZING, both Elder Clark and Gautie were shaking, just standing in the water! I felt bad, but Gautie even said so himself, “I had to do it!” He is amazing! I love this kid!!! He stopped smoking in ONE day to be baptized!! He is working so hard, and doing amazing!! We taught him with Soeur Hugon this week, and it was their turn to teach us on diligence…it went ok, but Gautie accidentally threw his paper away with all his notes (but at least he studied, and he told the Elder he studied!) and Soeur Hugon forgot and had her friend look it up on the internet for her….so we kind of taught, and showed examples of diligence, for example Guatie and his quitting to smoke! That is diligence!!!

Well the other night we got home and there was a note on our door bell and it is from Shane, our ami from Ireland that is amazing!!! He has been staying at the Youth Hostiles here looking for a job, and found one and was moving to Cahors the next morning!!! What? But he said the nicest things in this letter: “When I first met ye on the street, struck by the idea that ye had found something so perfect and pure and beautiful that ye traveled thousands of miles over the cold, tempestuous sea to share it with me and others. I think what ye are doing is wonderful, and I wish ye the best of luck. Talking with both of you has clarified my thinking of purity, peace and humanity. I’m not sure exactly what the aim of the mission is, but if it’s to warm up the world a bit and spread love and happiness, then you’ve succeeded in my eyes and heart. I promise to read The Book of Mormon and give you my response!” (I brought it and copied that…)

That is the best letter I could have gotten from him!!! So we are going to get in contact with him and send the missionaries to him!! Did I tell you about our last RV with him? He said “I have a bunch of questions I wrote down while I read, but I will ask them after you finish the lesson.” So we taught the Plan of Salvation…and he says “Well..ok…” he was searching for words…”You answered all of my questions but one….Why aren’t dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible?” Well, not a question I can answer, but I was pleased that we had answered all of his questions he had about life, and the purpose….he is soo neat!!! And he is going to read the Book of Mormon!! Well, the next morning we went searching for him at the Youth Hostiles, and it is a HIKE!!! But he had already left early that morning, but he had left his picture on the wall…that is him at the bottom with the pony tale and facial hair (I honestly cant remember what it is call in English, when you have just hair on your chin…)

Well, Soeur Kim and I have seen so many miracles!!! Just one after another! It is really fun because I don’t think Soeur Kim expected it to be THIS GOOD!!!! We both had an impression to stop this lady as we were walking home late one night….and she is now a new ami!!! Angelique! Her grandma died, and after that she doesn’t believe in God, we talked to her about the Plan of Salvation and her whole face changed! We met with her yesterday but she didn’t have a lot of time, but we were able to explain a little that her Grandma is safe, and that she will see her again and give her a Book of Mormon! She is amazing!!!

And Nadia!! I met her right before Soeur Kim came, on the bus, and we had our RV today! Taught her all about Joseph Smith, and this woman is the most charitable woman I have met in France! She explained that she has nothing, and looking at her, you know she isn’t lying, and she said that she really gives anything to anyone in need, she sold her grandmas necklace box ( of some sort..) because her friend needed some money…this girl is great! And she is going to come to the baptism in Montpellier next week!!! I LOVE THIS!!!

I am a little worried about Uyanga (Mongolian) so pray for her!!! PLEASE!! Things are just happening to make things look bad, or make us look bad. The Elders called us and hung up (kind of a game they play) and we were with President and I called back, well their number is right by the Mongolians and I called her and woke her up at 7:30 in the morning! Not good! And with President! My stomach was upset all day! I felt terrible! Well then we set up a RV for Wednesday, and she just called to see if I had forgotten her, and she thought it was today! Just miscommunications, but it just seems to be happening frequently! I feel terrible!! I love her so much!!

Well, not much of a Pday today, we have a million RVs because it is the only day people could see us…but it is ok!! Time for us to go!!! But I love you!!!
